Graduation is a cause for celebration with friends and family, yet I am also aware you will be leaving Singapore Polytechnic with mixed feelings. I know how you must feel as I was once a graduating student too.
There is the elation of going on to university, or the anticipation at joining the workforce. Whatever you choose to do next, your SP experience will stand you in good stead.
I hope you will cherish the memories of the new friendships forged, the experiences shared with your lecturers and friends, and the knowledge gained during your learning journey at SP.
I also hope you have found your time at SP fulfilling and the learning fun and enriching. Many of you would have had practical training in our laboratories, taken part in the annual Poly 50 run, served on industrial attachments, joined our sporting and cultural clubs or gone on overseas community service trips.
Polytechnic education has caught on and grown more relevant today than ever before. Polytechnic graduates are increasingly sought after by the universities and by employers. Your experience at SP and your diploma is a ticket to a lifetime of opportunities.
We share in your celebration and are proud of you and 145,000 others who graduated before you.
