On the 9th September 2004, Singapore Polytechnic, together with Suntec Integrated Media and Singapore Industrial Automation Association, organised the 3rd highly successful technical conference on Industrial Networks.
Hundreds of participants attended the Regional Industrial Networking Conference 2004, held at the newly opened SP Convention Centre. The conference attracted a diversed group of delegates from around the region, including many Chief Executives, Directors, Senior Managers and Engineers from various industry sectors.
There were a total of eight papers presented, two of which were by keynote speakers, Mr Gary Braun from Germany, and Mr Rakesh Khanna from Hong Kong. Dr Dave Chong, Director of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Singapore Polytechnic, delivered a warm address to welcome the participants to the Conference. This was followed by congratulary messages from the Conference Co-organisers delivered by, Mr Colin Koh, from SIAA, and Ms Annie Wong, from SIM respectively.
Over lunch, as well as after the main conference, all the conference speakers and many, among the delegates, took part in lab tours to the Network Operations Centre, SP Wireless Communications Centre and Centre for Fieldbus Technology. The projects exhibited and live demonstrations captivated the audience; and opened many opportunities for collaborations among the participants and organisers alike.
In all, everyone benefitted from the event. The organisers would like to thank all involved, and look forward to their participation in future RINCs.
