Review: Regional Industry Networking Conference 2009

Infocomm – Empowering Education & SMEs

The 8th Regional Industry Networking Conference (RINC 2009) held on 14 and 15 October 09 was a 'first' of sorts as it was the first time that the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering organised the event together with staff from Department of Educational Development, Chief Technology Officer’s Office, Singapore Maritime Academy, the School of Digital Media and Infocomm Technology and the School of Mechanical & Aeronautical Engineering.

The objective of the conference was to provide local and regional participants with a platform to discuss industry trends and development mainly in Engineering, Information and Communication.

With the theme “Infocomm – Empowering Education & SMEs”, the conference discussed Infocomm Technology (ICT) topics on SMEs, Engineering, Education & Retraining and Business Applications.

A total of 28 business and technical papers were presented over the two days and more than 300 delegates from industry and academic institutions participated in the conference-cum-exhibition event.

We are grateful to our sponsors: Singapore Industrial Automation Association, SingTel, Enterprise Centre, Salesforce.com and PACE Academy for their sponsorship and Singapore Computer Society for their support.
