For Overseas Programme

Singapore Polytechnic (SP) supports deserving students and students from lower income families benefit from overseas experiences by providing them with financial subsidies to support the overseas trips.

Students who meet the criteria may apply for the following Overseas Programmes Subsidies:

(a) Singapore Polytechnic Overseas Programme Funding (SPOP)
(b) Go Learn Overseas Funding (GLO)
(c) Young Talent Programme (YTP) - Market Immersion

Successful applicants will be notified of their application via their iChat email addresses.

(a) SPOP Funding

The SPOP funding supports students in Overseas Internships Attachment (OIA)/ Overseas Immersion Programme (OIP). Each eligible student can receive the SPOP funding only once during the course of study.

Eligibility Criteria :

  • Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident#
  • GPA of 2.5 and above
  • Full-time Diploma
  • Completed at least 1 year of diploma studies at the point of commencing the overseas programme

# Permanent Resident returning to home country is not eligible for SPOP Funding

(b) GLO Funding

SP offers the GLO funding to encourage students from lower income families to participate in Overseas Study Trip (OST).

For Overseas Internships Attachment (OIA)/ Overseas Immersion Programme (OIP), the student has to be granted SPOP funding before he/ she is eligible for GLO funding.

Each eligible student can receive the GLO funding only once during the course of study.

  • Singapore Citizen
  • Full-time Diploma
  • Gross monthly household per capita income (PCI*) of $2,250 and below or gross household income (GHI^) of $9,000 and below

(c) Young Talent Programme - Market Immersion

International Enterprise (IE) Singapore's Young Talent Programme (YTP) - Market Immersion aims to provide opportunities for young talents to gain global exposure and market immersion experience that will prepare them to take on future global careers. Students who are awarded funding from SP for participating in internships/ industrial attachment programmes, hybrid work-and-study programmes, short-term immersion programmes and student exchange programmes may be eligible for co-funding from IE Singapore under the YTP - Market Immersion to cover travel and living expenses. YTP-Market Immersion supports funding of $200 subsistence allowance per week and flat airfare of $400 per trip. The amount of funding from IE Singapore will be capped either at a maximum duration of 24 weeks per programme or SP’s co-funding amount, whichever is lower.

The YTP-Market Immersion funding application is subject to IE Singapore’s approval.

Eligibility Criteria :
Students who fulfill the following requirements may be eligible for YTP - Market Immersion funding:

  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Students who applied for SP fund for the same overseas programme
  • Students must have completed at least 1 year of diploma studies at the point of commencing the overseas programme
  • Students shall not be funded by any external scholarship or award which provides funding for the same overseas programme

Post-Programme Deliverables

  • Students are required to submit a written report detailing their key takeaways and experiences of their overseas programme in the country, within 2 weeks after the programme ends.
Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA)

In addition to the above financial subsidies, students can also use the Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) to pay for their overseas trip cost.

The PSEA Adhoc Withdrawal Form shall be submitted within 2 weeks after the trip to the Student Service Center (T16 Level 1).
