Just 1 Less Exemption Than NTU Accountancy Graduates

Recognized across the globe as a symbol of quality and success, the Association of Chartered Accountants (“ACA”) is a professional qualification offered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (“ICAEW”) with the aim of nurturing qualified accountants who are equipped with a wide range of business and finance skills.

ICAEW Seminar

A 2 hour long seminar was held in the Singapore Polytechnic (“SP”) auditorium on 25th of May 2010, where a panel of guest speakers comprising Mr. Martin Hagen (President, ICAEW), Mr. Mark Belington (Regional Director, ICAEW South East Asia) and Yeoh Oon Jin (Partner, Head of Assurance, PricewaterhouseCoopers), Danny Teoh (Managing Partner, KPMG) and Kon Yin Tong (Partner, Grant Thornton) provided the audience with an insight into the ACA qualification, and the many options available to SP Accountancy students upon graduation.

ICAEW Seminar

SP graduates are entitled to 7 credits (out of 15 examinations) in the ACA – only 1 less than NTU Accountancy graduates!  Upon completing this course, students are able to obtain a world class qualification without having to complete a university degree.

Singapore is an iconic epitome of a finance and accountancy hub. The demand for professionals, including accountants, will only increase as more multi-national companies move into the region. The ACA not only equips one with the highest level of business and finance skills, it also provides practical experience and encourages the highest ethical standards. Individuals who have an ACA qualification at hand will definitely have a competitive advantage over their peers both home and abroad.
