SMU Tax Case Challenge 2015

I participated in the Singapore Management University (SMU) Tax Case Challenge 2015. This is an annual event organised by Tax Society @ SMU. This competition helped us gain knowledge and awareness on tax policies and its impact on corporate decisions.

This is an eye-opening experience for me as it gives me the "feel" of being a tax associate in the outside world. The questions posted in the case challenge are related to what we have learnt in school and I would highly recommend my juniors to sign up for case challenge like this as it does not only exposes us to the real business world, it also widens our knowledge and further hone on our interpersonal skills as we interact with the business leaders from professional bodies such as The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and Ernst & Young (EY). It does not matter whether one wins or loses in this challenge, it is the willingness to learn and curiosity of one's mind to the outside world that matters.

I would like to thank Ms Lee Lai Mun, for giving me this rare opportunity to further advance myself into the tax world.
