Singapore Polytechnic’s (SP) off-campus retail store at Changi Airport Terminal 3 has turned one!
And to celebrate its first anniversary, SPELL (SP’s Entrepreneurship Living Lab) launched a new line of exclusive ladies apparel by local fashion designer Michelle Wong.
12 students from the Diploma in Business Administration course with an Entrepreneurship concentration has been in collaboration with Michelle since May this year to come up with a Fall/Winter collection that will be sold under SPELL’s in-house label VerveAvenue
The inspiration for the collection comes from the 1975 movie “Grey Gardens” and its 2009 remake. The strong contrast of dark tones and lace textures with bright hues and floral prints in the collection, illustrates the transformation of a pair of social butterflies from their decadent years to a dwindling lifestyle.
On 3 November, the collection of Verve Designer Fashionwear was revealed through a fashion show planned, coordinated and executed by the students.
SPELL is the first and only off-campus real world learning studio among the polytechnics in Singapore. It aims to put students’ entrepreneurial thinking into practice through authentic learning, and sees SP students being wholly responsible for the operations of the 54sqm outlet.
Hop on down to SPELL at Changi Airport Terminal 3 Basement 2 and experience what the students have concocted!
