Young entrepreneurs from Singapore Polytechnic joined hands with two secondary schools to show how powerful $100 can be in kickstarting a business.


 

SINGAPORE - Young entrepreneurs from Singapore Polytechnic joined hands with two secondary schools to show how powerful $100 can be in kickstarting a business.

The Entrepreneurship Bazaar 2013 is a test of the students' business acumen and also to let them apply the skills learnt in their Entrepreneurship Module and the “Introduction to Enterprise Development” O-level subject taught by SP lecturers.

Students from the Business School, School of Digital Media and Infocomm Technology and School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering were present, along with students from Fairfield Methodist and Outram Secondary.

At the bazaar there were 36 stalls selling items such as fashion apparel, accessories and lifestyle products.

An innovative bean curd business start-up by a group of SP Business students was also present at the event. Known as “Suckies”, it lets customers enjoy the popular dessert without the hassle of using a bowl and spoon.

Since 2010, the Bazaar has pledged to donate part proceeds to various charity organisations, with the objective of inculcating the spirit of giving among SP students.

This year, part of the proceeds from the bazaar sales went towards helping a fellow SP student, who is now recovering from a serious traffic accident in late 2012.
