Engaging students on Entrepreneurial Thinking

By Gabriel Tan (DBA, Year 1)

It was  an afternoon of inspiration for many Year 1 Diploma in Business Administration students at  Singapore Polytechnic taking the module Discovering Business and Enterprise with Ms. Christine Sim, the Managing Director of MindEdge who delivered a topic on Entrepreneurial Thinking and Success.

From a repeat “A” Level student starting of as an administrative personnel to a Managing Director of a leading agency in learning and development, Ms. Sim shared how Thoughts, Actions, Habits, Characters and Destiny could shape the lives of many people whom she interacted with. It is the analogy of a tree which she  used to help many of her clients develop life-long goals in discovering what they do at the present could potentially impact their lives positively in the future. Ms. Sim also shared with one of the lucky Year 1 student, Kenric, on the book “How to Build a Billion Dollar App” for being the first to complete an activity during the sharing session.

Apart from videos and an inspiring speech on Entrepreneurial Thinking, Ms. Sim has also illustrated how memory skills could come in instrumental for Entrepreneurs. The 90-minute session was inspiring and enriching.
