An Adventure to the Heart of Asia
It is an enriching and great learning experience for us in KPMG, Shanghai. We were able to put our accounting and auditing knowledge into practice at work. We did auditing techniques like casting, call-over and roll-over and participated in the preparation of the Independent Auditors’ Report for issuance to the clients and its shareholders. Every task given to us was a chance for us to learn and we performed the tasks in our best abilities.
At first we had trouble communicating well in Chinese, but the colleagues were very friendly and nice. They helped us with any problem encountered during our internship. We are glad that we got to know those colleagues in Shanghai, we even had lunch breaks together. For us, it is a memorable and fruitful working experience. We were exposed to the working life of an auditor thus allowing us to make better career choices in the future.
Life in Shanghai is quite exciting and happening. We did not expect to see someone playing saxophone in the middle of the shopping area and many people started dancing to it. Being able to live there for a month is an eye opener as we were exposed to different people, culture and food. Talking about food, the xiao long baos and shen jian baos in Shanghai is a must try!
