David KK Cheong joined SP Business School on 2.1.1988 as Lecturer in Transport Management Practice and Physical Distribution Management.  He shared with his students his extensive shipping and transport management experience to guide them for a career in this industry.  After about 10 years, he moved on to teach Management & Organisational Behaviour, Organisational Management, etc.  After upgrading himself with a Master in Human Resource Management degree from National University of Singapore, he developed and taught the module, Training & Development, for the Diploma in Human Resource Management with Psychology and the Diploma in Business Administration, HRM option.

He has a Master in Business Administration from the University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology, where he held the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office award.  He is Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, UK, and has the Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK.  In addition, he has the Advanced Certificate in Teaching (Higher Education) from Singapore Polytechnic.

Prior to teaching, he was working in industry for about 9 years; Product Division Controller with Miniscribe Peripherals in Singapore, Marketing Executive (Shipping) with Kontena Nasional and Shipping Executive with Boustead Shipping Agencies in Malaysia.

He tries to help his students do well at work as he has counseled many of them on their work-related issues when they shared with him after graduation.  In addition, he has attended many of their weddings and has welcomed their spouses and children into his home.

He is an active Grass Roots Leader, being an Executive Member of the Northoaks Woodsvale Neighbourhood Committee, and whenever he has the time, he helps out at the Sembawang constituency Meet-the-People session.
