Roger graduated with a degree in Finance and in Computer Science from the University of Oregon. He went on to complete his MBA in Entrepreneurship and also in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona. He has also completed a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) Certification Programme by IE Singapore.
Prior to joining the Singapore Polytechnic Business School, Roger worked mainly for SMEs in Singapore helping in the area of backend office automation. Some of his clients are manufacturers like Seagate Technology, Matshushita Kotobuki, Western Digital, Philips Singapore, and others.
Roger has completed many projects successfully for clients in Singapore and Malaysia. These projects involved identifying and implementing IT solutions utilising hardware and software to improve their efficiency in computing payroll and managing time attendance for their large workforce.
He is also familiar with franchising and has worked two years to help a local SME establish a franchise system that expanded its operations to 7 franchised outlets island-wide. Roger (while teaching at SP) was approached by Economic Development Board (EDB) to conduct a workshop for franchisees interested in investing in a franchise.
Roger believes that with his diverse background in IT, business and entrepreneurship, he can impart his experiences to his students in preparing them for work and life in the near & distant future. Roger enjoys teaching and working with the students at SP. They often bring to the classroom renewed energy and dreams. These students are eager to learn and they challenge Roger to a greater dimension of teaching and learning.
