Howard has a background in project management, business and product development, strategic marketing and consulting with experience across industries, including IT, F&B, design and education.
After graduating from Deakin University in Australia during the internet boom days (in 1999), he started his career in a mid-sized local IT firm, where he rose up the ranks from a software engineer to an internet development director. During his tenure in the company, he set up a division from scratch and launched the flagship product which was used by companies such as Delifrance, NTUC Cheers, World of Sports, among others. He was frequently involved in directing business and sales presentations to senior executives from banks and investment firms as well as private investors, prospective business partners and clients.
In 2006, Howard joined Singapore Polytechnic as a lecturer in the Business School.
In 2008, he represented Singapore as an invited speaker to the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) Conference held in Bangkok, where he spoke on “Using New Media to Engage Our Youths”. He is presently championing the use of Social Media for student outreach and student development.
In 2009, he received the Excellence in Teaching Award.
