Sheila graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from NUS and started her career with the Ministry of Manpower where she obtained a good foundation in employment laws and honed her skills in dispute resolution. She also holds the Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management from SIM.
Sheila subsequently joined the private sector in companies like Yamaha Music (Asia) Private Limited, Balestier Medical Centre and Scantrans Pte Ltd as a HRM practitioner. She acquired hands-on experience in the full spectrum of HRM functions for several years.
To realise her ambition to be a member of the teaching profession, Sheila joined SP in 1993. She teaches the Employment Law, Management & Organisational Behaviour and Discovering Business & Enterprise. She is able to draw and share practical examples from her work experiences in both the public and private sectors with her students – bringing to life the textbook concepts/theories which make student learning more engaging, meaningful and relevant.
