Goths, Nerds, Jocks, Hipsters and Skaters were just some of the stereotypes present at The Hall on 29th April 2015. Even the classic ‘pregnant-at-17’ made an appearance that night (mimicked by Nasyitah, DHRMP/1A/03). By 6.30 pm, The Hall was filled with year 1 to 3 students dressed up as American High School Stereotypes, which was our theme for this year’s DHRMP Dinner and Dance.
Held annually, the event was kick-started with a scrumptious buffet dinner. This was followed by special performances by SP’s Signify (Sign Language Club), who displayed their excellent sign language skills to the song ‘Stronger’ by Kelly Clarkson, and members from SDZ (Strictly Dance Zone) who did a hip hop number.
Another highlight of the night was the exciting games played which included “Don’t forget the Lyrics”,“Dance Battle” and “Lost and Found”. The eventful night finally drew to a close with the much-awaited ‘Dancing’ and that concluded DHRMP’s Dinner and Dance 2015.
Overall, the event was a success! Here are the comments made by our fellow DHRMPers:

“I really liked the Dinner and Dance as I felt that it was a great opportunity for the freshies to bond and also to bond as a course. Moreover, the theme and dress code made DnD more eventful and interesting. Overall, the event was fun and brought much laughter. It was an enjoyable one! My favourite part was the game “Don’t forget the lyrics”. It was fun to see my classmates and course mates singing on stage and having confused reactions once the music stopped!” – Shi Hua, DHMRP/1A/01
“DHRMP Dinner and Dance 2015 was fun and well-organized. It was a good platform for the freshies to bond with each other and the seniors. I really enjoyed myself.” – Sya, DHRMP/1A/01
“Personally, I found DHRMP DnD 2015 really fun and entertaining as the chapter members and emcees were really engaging. More importantly, it was the participants who made this DnD the best one I’ve ever attended! I had a lot of favourite parts e.g. the interesting games and dressing up to the theme. I especially loved the theme this year as it was really easy to dress up to and I did not have a hard time planning what to wear. As for the games, “Don’t forget the lyrics” was very entertaining, especially when everyone sang along to the High School Musical songs. All in all, I really really loved this year’s Dinner and Dance and am looking forward to the next one! Thank you Chapter members for organizing such a wonderful event” – Jasmine, DHRMP/2A/03
