On 19 Nov 2014, more than 40 students from twelve different schools and institutions who had just completed their ‘O-level’, came to iBall for DIB’s annual Outreach event. The students were eager to find out more about DIB curriculum so that they could make an informed decision at JAE 2015.
The event started at noon with ice-breaking games that helped the participants to socialise with one another and with the DIB Year 1 and Year 2 students who were members of the organising committee. Friendships were forged and strengthened throughout the session. Student leaders presented and shared DIB’s unique Tri-city Study Mission, Integrated Learning approach, and module information on modules such as Cultural Intelligence and Foreign Language. The participants also had a fun and interactive session during the popiah making session. Under the guidance of student leaders, one team emerged the winner of the most presentable popiah competition and walked away with $100 “Popular” vouchers. The other teams were presented with vouchers or other gifts. Everyone went home happy!
After the buffet lunch and small-group sharing session, our Course Manager – Mr David Wong closed the event and presented prizes to the winning teams and gifts to every participant. The event ended with a group photo taking that was all smiles! Overall, the experience was impactful, informative and fun. The organising committee is already looking forward to creating an even better event next year.
