The excursion to the Parliament House allowed us to gain a better understanding of how the Legislature works, as well as learn about the history and origins of the Parliament. The tour was detailed and informative, allowing us to gain new and interesting knowledge that cannot be learnt from textbooks, such as learning that one of the two existing statues of the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew is placed in the Parliament House. Photographs of each session and painting portraits of each Speaker of the Parliament House are put up along the corridors, which gave us more insight on the Parliament. The excursion to the Parliament House was definitely a great learning platform for us as this allowed us to understand the importance of the Parliament, where important decisions are being made and issues involving Singapore's future are being discussed.
