2015 Highlights

DBS and DBT students attend talks and seminar to stay current on scientific trends.

DBS and DBT students were inspired by their alumni at the DBS & DBT Career Talk.

On 10 October 2015, DBS students attended Pathology Today 2015 which was jointly organised by Singapore General Hospital (Department of Pathology) and Singapore Society of Pathology, to supplement their curriculum and keep themselves updated of the current developments in laboratory medicine.

DBS students and staff attended the 8th CGH Laboratory Medicine Symposium at Changi General Hospital on 18 April 2015.

DBS graduates (Class of 2015), Nicole Wong Wen Ru, Loo Yan Qi, Sarita Mok Wai Kam, Kum Ke Xin, Tan Fong Xin, Felicia Chia Si Ya and Tsai Yi Chen were accepted to read Pharmacy at the National University of Singapore. Congratulations!

DBS (cardiac technology option-Class of 2016) students were awarded the prestigious National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS) Scholarship, given to the best students of the option to pursue their passion in their chosen field of cardiac technology. Congratulations to Chew Jian Jonathan and Clara Anne Lim!

Four DBS graduates received the Healthcare Merit Scholarship to do their degrees overseas.

Team Canopus, formed by six DBS second year students, was awarded second runner up prize in the Singapore Space Challenge (SSC) 2014.

Lee Poh Sein (Class of 2009) has been awarded the Best Student award of the Bachelor of Science - Chemical Engineering programme, at the Singapore Institute of Technology -Technical University of Munich (SIT-TUM Asia). Due to his excellent performance, Poh Sein was offered a scholarship from Wilmar International. He graduated with distinction and is representing his cohort (2011 batch) to give a speech during the Graduation Ceremony in July 2014! Congratulations!

As the Club President for SP Vocal Talents, Annie was awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award (Individual) at the prestigious SP Excellence Awards 2014 ceremony.

Congratulations to our DBS alumnus, Foo Han Rong (Class 2010) who has recently been conferred Bachelor in Biomedical Science in the University of Queensland and also received the distinguished honour of a Dean’s Commendation for High Achievement in Year 2013.
