MICE Open House & Engagement Campaign
“MICE Open House is an event organised by SACEOS, aimed to create awareness of the MICE industry among tertiary students, allowing them to explore various career opportunities. Held on 18th July 2014 at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre Singapore, it was attended by more than 500 students from 12 different schools.
At the Open House, participants gained insights of the MICE industry through various activities. Industry leaders from Experia, Pico Art and MCI shared their experiences about the MICE industry. Four student groups who were shortlisted from the competition “How does Singapore maintain its lead as a global MICE destination?” presented their entries to a panel of judges. Participants benefited much from the judges’ comments, who were representatives from SACEOS, STB and PCMA. Student attendees also interacted and asked questions about career and internship opportunities to potential employers at the career exhibition.
A group of students from the Diploma in Integrated Events & Project Management assisted with the planning and marketing of the competition as well as the planning and execution of the MICEOH2014. Students also executed post-event engagement campaign include posting interesting MICE-related EDMs on Singapore Polytechnic, School of Architecture and the Built Environment Facebook page and a career talk organised for DEPM year 3 students. At the talk, Experia Events Pte Ltd shared their perspectives of the future and career opportunities of the MICE industry.
