SP Business School – POSB Marketing Plan Competition 2015
The Finals of the SP Business School – POSB Marketing Plan Competition 2015 was held on 12 August, 6 to 9 pm at MLT 8. Close to 80 guests, staff and students attended the Event.
SP Business School’s collaboration with POSB (Post Office Savings Bank) provided our Diploma in Business Administration Year 3 Marketing Option students the opportunity to showcase their marketing talent by developing a year-long marketing plan for POSB’s PAssion POSB debit card.
The Guest of Honour for the event was Mr Chew Yung Jin, the VP and Head of Cards Products in DBS.
Ms Georgina Phua, Director of SP Business School, also graced the event and gave a welcome speech and motivated the finalists to do their best.

After a semester of hard work, 3 teams were shortlisted and given the chance to pitch their marketing ideas to a panel of judges led by Mr Sayvious Ong, VP & Head of Debit Cards, DBS, who was the Chief Judge.

The teams presented innovative yet feasible ideas which impressed the judges as well as the audience. Many were awed by the creativity exhibited by the students.
It was a close fight between the three finalists. However, “The Key” emerged as the champion team with their comprehensive marketing plan. The Key used the theme “The Key to Living Passionately” for their marketing plan. As quoted by Mr Savyious Ong, “They had the ability to articulate a consistent marketing campaign from the start to end. It was their comprehensiveness that differentiated them.”

The first runner up was Team DMI, who wowed the audience with a series of amazing and creative marketing recommendations to POSB. Their remarkable yet hilarious marketing videos provided great inspirations and set high benchmark for future marketing students.

The second runner up team was Team Simplicity, who presented with finesse. They also managed to pique everyone’s interest with their adorable yet simple videos as well as their “Slide-the-City” campaign.

The best speaker award was presented to Keeve Png, who showed extraordinary enthusiasm and confidence during his presentation.

This whole competition offered a great learning experience for both the participants and audience. As mentioned by Ms Georgina Phua, Director of SP Business School: “I believe this is an excellent learning platform for our students to gain valuable insights and knowledge about both the industry as well as marketing itself.”
Overall, the judges were highly satisfied and impressed by the students’ work, and mentioned their intention to implement several of their marketing ideas.
