1. Measurement 1

This module aims to develop in students, an understanding of the principles of measurement of building work, booking dimensions and describing work fully. It also develops students’ ability in interpreting the rules of measurement and taking off/ measuring simple building work.

2. Measurement 2

This module will further develop students’ understanding of the SMM / CEMS rules of measurement and their ability to measure more advanced building works and external works.

3. Contract Administration & Costing

This module will give students an understanding of traditional tendering procedures and contractual arrangements, an appreciation of the common standard forms of contract and the ability to apply an understanding of the SIA (Lump Sum) Form of Contract in contract administration. Students will also be given the ability to assist in approximate estimating and cost control.
