Make Way for Shigga Shay

Student Rapper
ShiGGa Shay's journey into the world of Hip-Hop and Rap started at all of age nine. After battling and winning over fellow rappers by the time he hit 12, he found the drive to make a name for himself in the local music industry.

He has since been performing at club showcases and makes the best of every opportunity that comes his way. His ‘live’ sets abound with energy along with amazing stage presence. He has rocked the stage at “Live 'n' Loaded”, Zouk and the Marina Barrage.

He has also collaborated with MTV Asia Awards nominated band Electrico and Singaporean acapella group Budak Pantai. In 2010, ShiGGa Shay wrote and recorded his debut mixtape, "ShiGGa Shay's in the Building!" from his bedroom. The mixtape was released online in July, causing mini-waves on the Internet.

With the success of his mixtape, he performed at the National Day Parade 2010 on ‘live’ television with a song that he wrote and co-produced with Sydney Tan and Don Richmond. He has also been featured on Singapore Idol runner up Sylvia Ratonel's debut album on a track called "Fly".

ShiGGa Shay was recently featured on the world's most popular Hip-Hop site, "WorldStarHipHop", under the label "Unsigned Talent of the Week" for his "On My Grind" Music Video. The video has received over 100,000 views

ShiGGa Shay will be performing at Esplanade’s Outdoor Stage this 8 January 2012 at 8.30 pm. He’ll break in hot tunes off his upcoming EP ‘They Call Me ShiGGa’, including his hit single “Let's Roll” which is now on 987FM’s Top20 Countdown chart.

Asked how he felt about his success, he said, “The response to ‘Let's Roll’ has been great. The music video has just been released and the song is currently #14 on the 98.7FM Top 20 charts. I never expected any of my songs to be on the charts so I am incredibly humbled by that!”
