The Journey Has Begun

Diploma in Applied Drama and Psychology (DADP) Graduation Show 2013
Singapore Polytechnic – The Hall

As clichéd as it may sound, it was really over in the blink of an eye. Three years have passed and on 22 March, I attended my last official DADP event, our graduation show, 'Journeys 2013'.

'Journeys 2013' started with an exhibition of my graduating cohort’s final year projects and all groups had the chance to explain their projects. The guests included our industry partners and parents. I hope the exhibition gave everyone a good idea of what my cohort did and what we had to offer. Many guests showed interest in our projects and we were engaged in many meaningful conversations. It was really interesting to hear different points of view and responses towards our projects.

Talking to guests about our final
year projects

One of the highlights at 'Journeys 2013' was the comedic yet meaningful performance devised by four of our course mates. They performed the story of our three years here in Singapore Polytechnic. We could identify with many moments in the performance. These included positive and trying times that helped us grow and develop as individuals. Many of us had tears in our eyes when the performance ended.

Our lecturers also planned a special award segment. I was extremely taken aback when I was named as the recipient of the Most Observant Student award. It was very heart-warming that our lecturers are on the constant lookout for students who excel in different areas.

It was a momentous evening for all of us and it made us reflect on the past three truly mind-blowing years. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the DADP team for organising such a wonderful night for my graduating cohort!

And so, with what DADP has equipped us, we journey on, hoping to create meaningful journeys with others as well.
