The Anti-Drug Abuse Campaign (ADAC) 2015 celebrated its 20th anniversary at Suntec Convention Hall on 26 and 27 June 2015. The campaign aimed to raise awareness of the anti-drug cause to the young and general public, included a fun-filled carnival together with the annual dance competition, “DanceWorks! 2015”, which targets teenagers to participate in healthy activities and encouraging them to stay drug-free.
In collaboration with the Central Narcotics Bureau and National Council Against Drug Abuse, students from Diploma in Integrated Events & Project Management (DEPM) was tasked to promote and execute the event.
The team executed a series of school engagement activities, on-site publicity, island-wide distribution of commemorative gifts as well as conceptualisation of ideas for the following year’s campaign. They also raised public awareness of the campaign through roving exhibitions at four heartland locations and Singapore Polytechnic campus. The highlight of the campaign was a special photo exhibition on the 20 years of ADAC, showing past efforts in promoting anti-drug in Singapore.
Overall, the campaign was successful in promoting and garnering support for the anti-drug cause. The ADAC 2015 has also been reported in local and international media such as The Straits Times, Berita Harian and Hong Kong based Phoenix Television.
