On 13 August 2014, the NTU School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences represented by Professor David Adams, gave away Certificates of Merit and Certificates of Participation to eight selected teams in recognition of their good quality submissions for a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) assignment. The students had submitted the PBL assignment as part of AMM3. It was designed by Professor David Adams based on a talk entitled “Gravity, Differential Equations and Satellites” that he had given to the AMM students on 21 May 2014.
The top three teams consisting of students from DCHE, DARE and DCPE respectively, received Certificates of Merit while the other five teams received Certificates of Participation. The award ceremony was attended by NTU representatives, MS lecturers, and staff from SEEE and CLS. The ceremony ended with a candid sharing by the recipients on their learning journey in solving the challenging PBL assignment. This was followed by a tea reception where students, SP staff, and NTU representatives interacted and took photographs to remember the event.
