How To Start Your First BusinessAn Inaugural Tea Session Series
Lim Chooi Guan
For the novice, setting up a business may seem like a treacherous minefield. However, having a seasoned entrepreneur to lend some words of wisdom might go a long way to allay those fears
That is what fourteen current DMIT students got to experience in the inaugural DMIT Tea Session series held on 30th July 2012 at Singapore Polytechnic’s Innovillage.
The Tea Session series was conceived as a platform to connect current students with prominent alumni, and also to share ideas based on a common theme.
The inaugural Tea Session, titled “How To Start Your First Business”, saw the fourteen students, many of whom are budding entrepreneurs, join our two illustrious alumni speakers in an evening of casual business chat over a sumptuous spread of food.
Both our alumni speakers are distinguished entrepreneurs in their own right. Mr Winson Wee is the founder of Reachfield IT Solutions and currently serves as its Vice-President for Client Engagement and Projects. Mr Lim Chooi Guan, founder of Skyjuice Software, is currently based in Norway. We were privileged to have him join us for the Tea Session via SKYPE conference.
As Winson and Chooi Guan noted, these students are young and energetic, with plentiful of ideas. It is with great hope that these sessions would be useful in nurturing them.
