They were serious. They were professional. They were applying what they have learnt in class - their interviewing and coaching skills.
On 13 November 2013, 30 Year 2 students from the Diploma in Human Resource Management with Psychology (DHRMP) conducted mock interviews, as well as, gave constructive feedback to 28 Year 3 SP students. Called the Peer Coaching programme – “Interviews Live”, it was a first time collaboration between SP Business School and the Student Service Centre.
The objective of this Peer Coaching programme is to help Year 3 students, from all academic schools, prepare for university admission interviews, scholarship applications and job interviews, by providing them the opportunity to practise and hone their interview skills.

Zhang Zhao - EEE
“Overall, I think it was a great experience! The juniors were friendly and made it enjoyable. Most importantly, they pointed out some of my areas for improvement which I would definitely take note of. They posted me relevant questions that I would use to prepare myself for my next interview.”

And what were the thoughts of our DHRMP interviewers? Read on ...
“I thought this was a good opportunity to apply what we have learnt in our Recruitment & Selection module, even after we have completed the module. I'm glad that I took up the role of a mock interviewer and am looking forward to more opportunities to conduct interviews. It was also beneficial for the interviewees as they discovered their strengths and areas to improve on. Hence, the mock interviews were mutually advantageous.”
Merilyn Ng – DHRMP/02
“I find this Peer Coaching programme to be very meaningful as it does not only provides Year 3 students the experience of how an actual interview will proceed but it also provides an opportunity for the peer coaches to sharpen their interviewing and coaching skills. It is a definitely a win-win benefit-experience for us and the interviewees.”
