102 first year students from the Diploma in Hotel & Leisure Facilities Management embarked on a 4 days 3 nights study trip on-board Super Star Gemini, sailing towards Penang and Langkawi from 14 to 17 September 2014
During the trip, the students were given tours of the kitchen galley, laundry area and casino. They also had the opportunity to attend talks given by the cruise management team regarding the operations in various departments such as entertainment, food & beverage and rooms division.
The students also had plenty of fun participating in various activities organised on-board as well as a short excursion visit to Ferringi night market in Penang, and Langkawi GeoPark where they experienced the 360 degrees 3D image SkyDome projection ride, and Sky Cab (cable car) to the peak of the park where they get to enjoy a panoramic view of the beautiful surroundings.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the trip as it provided an enriching and insightful out-of-classroom learning experience. It was also through this trip that they managed to develop strong, meaningful bonding amongst themselves and with new friends.
