He overcomes gaming addiction to excel again
The New Paper 27 Feb 2012 – SP student Thomas Tham will be graduating as one of the top students from SP’s pioneer batch of Diploma in Engineering with Business graduates. Even before he has official graduated from SP, he has been granted early admission into NTU’s prestigious Renaissance Engineering Programme which accepts only 50 students a year. He lost his secondary school scholarship in secondary two when he lost his focus in academics with online gaming. But he managed to pull himself up and became the top secondary 3 student in school.
Another SP student Ong Yong Lin was also featured in the paper. With a near perfect 3.961 GPA, he has a spot in NTU-Georgia Tech Integrated Programme in Computer Science and Computer Engineering. He was accepted early into the programme because of his academic strength over his past five semesters at SP.
