Designing a Driverless Vehicle @ EEE Future Transportation Challenge 2017

School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE), in collaboration with STEM Inc, Science Centre Singapore, held a competition on assembling and programming a smart driverless vehicle using Arduino. The competition was held at The Hall in Singapore Polytechnic on 7th June 2017.

Briefing of rules and regulations cum training workshops for 34 teams from 18 secondary schools were conducted by EEE organising team prior to the competition. The students were required to assemble and program a driverless vehicle using an Arduino UNO-based car to manoeuvre a challenging road (track) in a simulated urban environment. The track consisted of a mixture of linear paths, curves and gentle slopes. Along the track were obstacles complete with a tunnel and a bridge.
