SP Robots scores big at Singapore Robotic Games with 2 Golds, 3 Silvers, 3 Bronze and 1 Commendation award
The Singapore Robotic Games was held in the Singapore Science Centre from the 8th to the 10th January 2008. Singapore Polytechnic had a total of 9 medals which consist of 2 Golds, 3 Silvers, 3 Bronze and 1 Commendation award.
Imagine balancing a pole on your palm and having to cross the road at the same time. This is what the Pole Balancing Robots had to do. SP's robots did it so well that we won the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.
The Intelligent Robots had to pickup 15 balls which were randomly placed and then sort them into 3 colour groups. Our robots got the Gold and the Bronze medals for picking the most balls and in the shortest time.
We also won a Silver medal in the Open Category with a live-size humanoid. Our Robot Colony missed the Gold medal just by one point. We had a Bronze medal for the Robot Soccer and a Commendation award for the Wall Climbing Robot.
