How would you like to own a mascot...specially designed by our very own students?
With Christmas coming round the corner, are you looking for a trendy gift for someone who is young at heart? Look no further but wait a minute - do read on.
As part of their coursework in the School of Media & Info-Communications Technology, students from the Diploma in Creative Media Design course drew designs for mascots in 2005. The goal was to come up with mascots which would represent the 7 schools that we had before Sep 2006. The prototype designs were first seen at Spinnovex 2006 in January this year. They were a great hit among visitors who were impressed by the designs and the talents of our students.
We took this one level up and commissioned a local toy company to manufacture them. The mascots and the schools they represent are shown below.
Top row: Sch of MM; Sch of BE; Sch of CLS; Sch of EEE
Bottom Row: SMA; Sch of Business; School of MIT
Students from the School of Business will be selling them. While they will be selling these in their push carts in Block 19, they will also be doing direct sales to staff and students. So please do give your support to them.
As single pieces, the mascots will sell for $14 each. If you buy a full set, it will cost you only $89. Those who went to the Dinner and Dance and need six other pieces can have the rest of the 6 piece set for $76. These are much cheaper than what is being retailed outside the campus. The recommended retail prices are $15.90 and $100 respectively.
The mascots are for a good cause - whatever small profit made from the sales of these mascots will go into the Students' Needy Fund. So, please support our students - those who designed the pieces, those who are selling the mascots and those who will need the extra cash to help them through their study at the SP!!!
