On 12 July 2006, staff from Singapore Polytechnic trooped into the Concourse to celebrate Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Day. As part of the SAF Day celebrations, re-dedication ceremonies are held all over Singapore for NSmen and their employers to publicly reaffirm their commitment and support to Singapore’s national defence efforts.
The re-dedication ceremony was organised by Singapore
Polytechnic to recognise the importance of the SAF and
national Service (NS) as a long-term investment in the survival, security and success of Singapore. The re-dedication ceremony was graced by Guest-of-Honour, Mr Low Wong Fook, Principal of Singapore Polytechnic. The highlight of the morning was a spirited recital of the SAF Pledge led by SP’s Mr Philip Quah and our NSmen, and the reading of the Armed Forces Day Message from Minister of Defence by Principal.
In good Singapore Polytechnic fashion, the simple ceremony was followed by a networking time where NSmen swapped stories of their NS and reservist days over a sumptuous buffet lunch.
