Singapore Polytechnic opens perfumery, cosmetic facility

Straits Times Online 7 Jan 2014 - Singapore Polytechnic (SP) has launched a new $1 million, 575 square metre facility for students in the Diploma in Perfumery & Cosmetic Science. The new facility is poised to meet the expected growth of the personal-care consumer market. SP foresees an increased demand for more skilled manpower as the global market for personal fragrance is expected to grow by at least 40 per cent by 2017. SP signed four memorandums of understanding with industry players Procter & Gamble, Lubrizol Southeast Asia, NUANCE-Watson and the Institute of Chemical and Engineering Sciences for collaboration on various opportunities for students such as internships (local and overseas) and industry-based projects. Berita Harian interviewed DPCS student Abdul Rasyid on his DPCS experience. The New Paper mentioned the opening of the centre and the mangrove swamp perfume that DPCS created previously.
