Health-conscious lovers of lap cheong can enjoy these Chinese-style sausages without feeling the guilt.
Twinz Sausage D'lite, a healthier version of a traditional Chinese sausage (lap cheong), was developed by a trio of Singapore Polytechnic students as part of their Final Year Project.
After a year of toil in the library and food laboratory, students Ivan Siew, 24, Douglas Tan, 19, and Samuel Teo, 19, devised a healthier version which meets Singapore Health Promotion Board guidelines. The sausage, being lower in fat and sodium content, carries the Healthier Choice symbol.
Twinz Sausage D'lite will be produced by Golden Glory Food Industries Pte Ltd. The product was commercially launched before Lunar New Year in 2007.
