This is a great time for you to be in SP Business School! Through extensive renovation and upgrading, we now have many pleasant and conducive learning and social spaces for you to meet, relax or study. We have a distinctive lobby at level 1, our very own “Hill Top Haven”, cozy study corners outside the lecture theatres as well as a spanking new “Hangout Lounge” – these have all been planned to enhance your experience in SP. A short walk down the hill, and Starbucks, Subway and many other outlets await you at Food Court 5!
Classrooms have been upgraded with up-to-date equipment and given a luxurious look and feel. We have converted one of the newly added classrooms above Food Court 6 into a “Harvard” style classroom. This special room will have a flexible class space with flexible desking and seating, tiered over several levels to be in line with the concept of student centered teaching.
In addition, we have many special learning spaces. One of these is the Dealing Room which replicates a real-world trading experience and connects the classroom to the financial world outside! SB is the only polytechnic in Singapore to invest in such a unique learning environment. We also have the Hospitality Learning Hub where our students are provided with practical training in Hotel Front Office reservations and Food & Beverage management. One of the latest additions to our training facilities is the concept store “SPELL” which was inspired by our students’ passion for innovation, enterprise, design and fashion. Our students run this store which is situated at Changi Airport Terminal 3 and which carries an exciting range of premium quality products and designs that meet various fashion needs.
Finally, have you noticed “Designworks, Singapore at Level 3 of Blk 19? This centre represents an exciting new initiative. Why is it exciting? Getting students hooked on thinking and creating business solutions that are fresh, innovative and of real value to people is something that we keen on doing. This is why we are introducing Business Design, a cutting edge new way of thinking, into our curriculum. We have partnered with a leading global authority on Business Design, The Rotman School of Management (University of Toronto), to bring Business Design to our students in ways that will accelerate their learning of innovation. We believe that every company values innovative staff. It is our goal to train you to acquire this valued trait.
If you develop the mindsets and learn the tools and methodologies in this new way of thinking, you will have the potential to transform your future workplaces, businesses and maybe even the world at large for the better. High hopes, you may think, but we believe you can achieve this!
