| COURSE AIMS |
The Bachelor of Maritime Operations (BMO) & Bachelor of Transportation Management (BTM) courses aim to provide sound and broad knowledge, understanding, skills and competences in maritime-related disciplines with specialisations in Technology : Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, Offshore and Maritime Business and Operations. |

The programmes will take about 1½ years to complete. Stage A at SMA Mon 26 Apr 2010 to Sat 7 Aug 2010 Stage B at MIWB Mon 13 Sep 2010 to Sat 11 Dec 2010 Stage C Internship + thesis Jan 2011 onwards (6 months) |

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION |
Maritime Institute Willem Barentsz offers both BMO and BTM. The degree is awarded by University of Applied Sciences NLH (of which Maritime Institute Willem Barentsz is a division).
The degree is fully compliant with the requirements and standards of international conventions and maritime practice. It is approved by the NVAO (Netherlands Vlaams Accreditation Organisation), DNV (Det Norske Veritas) and Nautical Institute where relevant.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS |
Bachelor of Maritime Operations (BMO) Applicants must hold any of the following qualifications awarded by Singapore Polytechnic- Singapore Maritime Academy:
- Diploma in Nautical Studies
- Diploma in Marine Engineering*
- Diploma in Maritime Studies (DO)* or (MPP)
- Students who have successfully completed any CoC preparatory course in SMA may also apply. The final selection and decision will be done by SMA on behalf of MIWB.
*Applicants must have at least 3 months of sea service.
Note: The award of the BMO will be subjected to the attainment of a minimum CoC Class 3 Deck Officer or CoC Class 5 Engineer Officer.
All applicants must attend an entrance interview to qualify for entry to the course.
Bachelor of Transportation Management (BTM) Applicants must hold any of the following qualifications awarded by Singapore Polytechnic- Singapore Maritime Academy:
- Diploma in Maritime Transportation Management
- Specialist Diploma in Shipping Operations and Management (SSOM)
- Any other students who have successfully completed the Diploma in Shipping Operations and Management (DSOM) may also apply. The final selection and decision will be done by SMA on behalf of MIWB.
All applicants must attend an entrance interview to qualify for entry to the course. |

| COURSE FEES |
S$26,000 (exclusive of airfares) Installment Plan: First installment of S$6,000 (before commencement of taught modules at SMA) Second installment of S$11,000 (upon commencement of taught modules at MIWB) Third installment of S$9,000 (by completion of taught modules at MIWB)
Amount includes:
- Taught modules at SMA for 1 semester;
- Taught modules, food, accommodation and laundry at MIWB for 1 semester; and
- Distance learning package/project work onboard ship/related industry for 6 months (approximate)

Scholarships are offered by the SMA through the Singapore Maritime Foundation under MaritimeONE.
