What is this course about?
In the cyber era, a web presence is the easiest way to reach out to the world with minimal cost. Anyone searching for information will surf the Internet. Hence website development provides the opportunity for maintaining a presence in the cyber world and for companies to reach out to many where conventional methods could not.
This course is fully competency based and hence can be adapted as a course under the National Infocomm Competency Framework (NICF), which is now part of WSQ.
Suitable for
Anyone who has inclination to pursue a career in IT particularly related to Website Development.
Assumed Skills and Knowledge
Able to appreciate IT and basic of knowledge in IT is an advantage.
Funding Incentives
Course Fee: $1,800.00
WDA Funding*: $1,620.00 (90% subsidy)
Nett Course Fee after WDA Funding: $180.00 + $12.60(GST) = $192.60
* Eligibility for WDA Funding: - Singaporean and PRs (company sponsored or self sponsored) - Achieve at least 75% attendance - Complete and pass all required assessments
Singaporeans and Permanent Residents can enjoy a subsidy of 90% under the Skills Program for Upgrading and Resilience (SPUR) scheme offered by WDA.
Course Outline
Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to:
- Demonstrate understanding of dynamic content incorporating theoretical concepts - Apply solutions to a range of web-based page creation issues - Identify and apply skill and knowledge to a wide variety of related dynamic page creations problems with depth in some areas - Analyse and plan approaches to technical problems or management requirements - Identify and evaluate breakdowns in dynamic content and analyse information from a variety of sources - Evaluate information, using it to forecast for planning or research purposes - Take responsibility for own outputs in relation to specified quality standards - Demonstrate relevant client side language coding skills - Demonstrate understanding of integration of database and web site - Setup and manage database connection - Maintenance and migration of database
Mode of Assessment
9 Quizzes (30 minutes each) and 2 Assignments (2 hours each) and 1 Project (6.5 hours)
Certification
Participant who meet the 75% attendance and passed all assessments will be awarded the Singapore Polytechnic Certificate of Performance in Website Development and 3 Statement of Attainments from WDA

Applicants may apply for the course with the available schedule online.
Applicants who are successfully selected for the course will receive confirmation letter via email.
During the enrolment exercise, applicant is required to present the following documents for verification
1. originals of education qualifications and documentation
2. confirmation letter
A copy of each documents will be retained by the Professional & Adult Continuing Education (PACE) Academy.
