CoC Class 1 & 2 Deck Officer
||The Combined Class 1 & 2 (Deck Officers) course will lead to the issue of Class 1 & 2 Certificate of Competency (CoC), issued by the Maritime & Port Authority (MPA) of Singapore, upon successful completion of written examinations at SMA and oral examinations at MPA.
||Courses meet the requirements of STCW Convention of IMO.

Administrative Fee: $50 + 7% GST for Registration
Tution Fee: *S$7,800 + 7% GST Payable on approval of Student Pass by Immigration and Checkpoint Authority(ICA)

|EXAMINATIONS & FEES
||To be conducted at Integrated Simulation Centre and Shipping Division, MPA.
Class 1 (Simulator & Oral) S$300.00
Class 2 (Simulator & Oral) S$250.00
Class 1 and 2 (Oral only) S$175.00
Candidates must successfully complete the following modules at SMA:
MA2022 Ship Handling & Simulator
MA2023 Marine Plant & Propulsion
MA2024 Cargo work
MA2026 Maritime Law & Personnel Management
MA2029 Ship Stability
MA2030 Ship Construction
Sea Service Requirements
36 months from Class 3 or watch keeping level to Class 1; or 12 months from Class 3 to Class 2 and 24 months thereafter; or 12 months after Class 2, if sailed as chief officer immediately after Class 2, otherwise sea service is pro-rated.

Application forms for the course can also be obtained from "Forms" listed under "Admission". Applicants need to forward a copy of passport, and return address together with the application.
All original certificates (including short courses) and sea service records must be produced during enrolment for verification.
Upon receiving completed application form together with Administrative fees, SMA will issue a SOLAR (Student's Pass On-line Application & Registration) number. With the SOLAR number, the student will then apply for a Student Pass via http://www.ica.gov.sg
Admission to this course is subject to candidates obtaining a 'Student Pass' by 'Immigration and Checkpoint Authority' (ICA) of Singapore. Candidates will be advised of the procedure to obtain 'Student Pass' about 2-3 months before starting of the course.
Following the instruction from SMA and ICA, it is not necessary for applicants to apply for entry permit from the Singapore High Commission or Embassy in your country.
|BOARDING & LODGING
The Singapore Polytechnic does not maintain hostel facilities. Private apartments are available in the vicinity of the campus and rooms are rented out at approx. S$400 a month twin-sharing. Daily expenses are estimated to be about S$10.00 per day
|HOSPITALISATION & SURGICAL INSURANCE
Candidates are required to take up the insurance during their stay in Singapore. Estimated Cost: S$50.
VISA FOR SPOUSE AND CHILDREN
|Spouse and children will travel by tourist visa. On arrival, SMA will issue a letter for student to apply visa in Singapore for his immediate family covering the period of his study.
