Overview Entry Requirements What You'll Study Your Future

Overview

This is a three-year full-time programme and all core modules are mainly year-long with 100% in-course assessment. An integrated project-based learning approach is used to facilitate students to learn architectural design and technology. Knowledge and skills are taught just in-time to allow the application in the project. At the same time peer learning through interaction in design studios and critique sessions are also encouraged.

Students are trained to document their architectural design process in sketches as well as to document their architectural drawings and presentation using CADD software in electronic studios. They learn design methods and methodology, history and theory of architecture, architectural materials and technology, environmental management and sustainability, and statutory requirements to apply and integrate into a project.

During the design process, students are very involved in critical thinking and decision-making which help to develop creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship in them. Through this practice oriented training, students also learn to be independent workers as well as team players in architectural practice. General elective modules are also incorporated into the programme so that the training is broad-based to ensure that our graduates are versatile for the knowledge-based economy.

Designing a legacy

The course, though intensive and packed with many challenges, ultimately is fulfilling. From one who did not know much about architecture, I have developed a deeper passion for this discipline in the course of my study. It has certainly helped me unlearn the norm!
