The SkillsFuture Earn and Learn Programme is a work-study programme designed to give fresh full-time Diploma graduates from one of the 5 polytechnics in Singapore a head-start in careers related to their discipline of study. It provides them with more opportunities, after graduation, to build on the skills and knowledge they acquired in school, and better supports their transition into the workforce.
Who is it for?
The SkillsFuture Earn and Learn Programme is for Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents who are Fresh full-time Diploma graduates from one of the five polytechnics in Singapore.
Working adults in the Maritime industry who wish to pick up specialised skills and knowledge in shipping, logistics and offshore operations and management should consider our non-ELP course like the Diploma (Conversion) in Maritime Business Management.
How does it work?
You will be matched with a job related to your discipline of study and undergo a 12 months structured training programme, depending on the sector and job requirements. The programme includes facilitated learning, on-the-job training and work-based projects, to allow you to deepen your skill sets at the workplace. Assigned mentors at the company will guide you and provide support in your continual skills development. You will also enjoy a well-structured career progression pathway, in line with the company’s talent development plan. At the end of the programme, you will receive an industry-recognised certification.
This structured 2-month work-study programme will not only prepare the participants for a fruitful career in the port industry, it will help to build a critical pipeline of port operations officers to support the development of Singapore as a premier global hub port. It will provide the participants with a head-start in careers through the deepening of skills gained from acquiring relevant work experience and skills. Participants will enjoy skills-based wage increments and meaningful career advancement pathways upon programme completion and satisfactory job performance.
This Earn and Learn Programme (ELP) aims to provide the participants with a head-start in their career and deepen their skillsets in the container terminal and multi-purpose port operations which include yard planning, stowage planning and control centre. The participants will be given the opportunity to learn better through structured on-the-job training and institution-based training in the port operations sector.
Maritime or Logistics graduates who wish to embark on a career in the port operations sector. This structured 12-month work-study programme is also suitable for maritime or logistics executives who are keen to enhance and/or upgrade their existing knowledge and skills in the areas of port terminal services and marine operations.

Minimum Entry Requirements
The entry qualifications for the NSPMO ELP are as follow:
a) The participant shall be a full-time graduate of a relevant Maritime or Logistics Diploma* from any of the polytechnics in Singapore.
b) The participant shall be an employee of a maritime related company participating in the ELP.
c) The participant shall be a Diploma graduate within 5 years of graduation or within 5 years from his last day of National Service Operationally Ready Date (ORD).

Participants in this programme will need to undergo a structured 12-month course which comprises of campus-based lectures/tutorials and on-the-job training at the company’s workplace. Conceptual knowledge and principles are presented in lectures while OJT reinforce the students understanding of the theoretical knowledge. E-Learning topics will also be introduced to aid the participants to learn the knowledge independently at their own pace. Learning outcomes are tested by way of written examinations, quizzes, assignments, etc.

Upon completion of 2 Post-Diploma Certificates and fulfilment of the skills competency through OJT within a 12-months validity period, the participant will be conferred Specialist Diploma in Port Management and Operations qualification from Singapore Polytechnic

- The fees shown (inclusive of 7% GST) are indicative as they are based on prevailing funding policies and subject to review.
- Post Diploma Module Certificate fee is payable on a semester basis.
- Post Diploma course participants who submit the withdrawal notification 2 weeks before course commencement, an administrative fee of $50 (before GST) would be levied.
