What is this course about?
This course aims to provide people already working or wishing to enter the process industry with the skills and knowledge required Energy Management.
Individuals who are currently operators or technicians from the following sub-sectors:
- Facilities Management
- Energy Management
- Project Management
Assumed Skills and Knowledge
Participants are assumed to:
- Have knowledge of building work;
- Have computer literacy;
- Be able to listen and speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System (ESS) level 6;
- Be able to read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to ESS level 6; and
- Be able to process numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ESS level 6.

Participants have to meet minimum 75% attendance and attain competency in the module. If the 75% attendance and/or competency criteria are not met, participants will have to pay the subsidy amount to Singapore Polytechnic.
Please submit latest payslip (only applicable to WTS subsidy applicant) and completed Declaration Form upon successful Enrolment to receive the subsidies.
This course will cover the knowledge required to assess the thermal conditions within a building using reference standard data and analyze the factors that affect the thermal condition within a building. The participants will be able to recommend appropriate methods of reducing heat transmission through building fabrics. Participants will also be able to interpret the specific thermal properties of materials and construction and interpret building drawings and to identify problems and propose solutions.
Mode of Assessment
Written test and Practical performance/work assignment.
This is the sector elective competency unit required for the qualification Advanced Certificate in Process Technology (Energy Management).

1. Photocopy (back and front) of NRIC for Singaporeans and PRs, or “Employment”/ “S” Pass for foreign applicants
2. Minimum ESS Level 5

Withdrawal and Deferment
Withdrawal and deferment notice must be made in writing to the Professional & Adult Continuing Education (PACE) Academy via email to [email protected]. For withdrawal cases, the portion of course fee to be refunded is based on the date of notice as follows:
• 2 weeks before the commencement of the course - Full refund
• Less than 2 weeks before commencement of the course - 70% refund
• On or after date of commencement - No refund
