What is this course about?
The course provides the participants with a fundamental knowledge to learners will have the basic knowledge and skills to work in a manufacturing or process environment, based on a set of competency elements, which include:
- Follow standard operating procedure requirements
- Follow contamination control procedures
- Report and record abnormalities
This course is suitable for technicians or specialists working in a manufacturing or process environment. The trainees will arm themselves with essential skills on how to interpret and follow a standard operating procedure (SOP); observe good personal hygiene; check for contamination and carry out cleaning activities on equipment and work area; detect and report abnormality in their workplace.
Assumed Skills and Knowledge
a) In-employment Upgrading (for those working within the Pharmaceuticals and related industries)
For the applicant company
The company must have requirements that would require its employees to understand the importance of follow good manufacturing practices at work.
b) For those who are not from the Pharmaceutical / Biologics related industry, currently unemployed or seeking employment from other industries (e.g. Chemical Production, Oil & Gas, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor or Wafer Production, Plant Construction, Plant Equipment Maintenance, Water, Waste Management, Energy Management)
Participants are assumed to:
(i) have a basic knowledge of the Singapore Workplace Safety and Health requirements
(ii) Be able to listen, read, speak and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System (ESS) Level 4
(iii) Be able to use numeracy skills at proficiency level equivalent to ESS Level 4
Course Fee: $450 + $31.50 (GST) = $481.50
SSG Funding (70%): $315 +$22.05 ( GST) = $337.05
Nett Fee payable after SSG Funding for Singaporean & PR: $144.45 (incl. GST)
* Eligibility for SSG Funding:
- Singaporean and PRs (company sponsored or self-sponsored)
- Achieve at least 75% attendance
- Complete and pass all required assessments
- Complete post-training survey conducted between 3 to 6 months after course end.
Participants who have been granted the SSG funding but fail to meet the above requirements would be liable for the subsidised course fee ($315.00 + GST).
Participants have to undergo up to 8 hours of training at the Singapore Polytechnic. Typically, the training involves 7 hours of classroom training sessions and 1 hour of assessment.
Successful completion of the course will enable participants to obtain industry recognized WSQ certification and equipped with skills to work as part of technical teams in the process plants.
Mode of Assessment
There is assignment, written/oral assessment at the end of the training course.
Participant who meets the 75% attendance and passed all the assessments required by the course will be awarded a Statement of Attainment 'WSQ Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.

Upon completing online registration, please submit the following:
1. Photocopy (back and front) of NRIC for Singaporeans and PRs, or “Employment”/ “S” Pass for foreign applicants
2. Declaration Form
- Self-sponsored declaration form
- Company-sponsored declaration form
IMPORTANT: Applications without ALL of the above required supporting documents will be considered incomplete and rejected. Singapore Polytechnic regrets that we will not be able to inform individual applicants of the incomplete documentation nor disclose the reasons for selection/non-selection of applicants.

Please note that an administrative charge of $15 will be imposed for any returned cheques from the bank or financial institution.
2. All successful applicants will be notified with a letter of confirmation via email.
3. Withdrawal and Deferment
Withdrawal and deferment notice must be made in writing to the Professional & Adult Continuing Education (PACE) Academy, Singapore Polytechnic via email accordingly:

For withdrawal cases, the portion of course fee to be refunded is based on the date of notice as follows:
- 2 weeks before the commencement of the course - Full refund
- Less than 2 weeks before commencement of the course - 70% refund
- On or after date of commencement - No refund
- There will be no refund or transfer of course once the account has been created.
The Singapore Polytechnic reserves the right to cancel or postpone any of the courses. Applicants will be duly notified and where applicable, the full fees will be refunded.
The Singapore Polytechnic also reserves the right to amend the fees charged or the period and duration of the courses.
The data provided to Singapore Polytechnic will be kept strictly confidential and will be used for the purpose of course administration. The data may be passed on to the relevant organisations that require the information related to the course.
