The Diploma in Civil Engineering with Business is a broad-based and multi-disciplinary course that provides students with training in civil engineering within the context of a business environment. Students can learn and benefit from the experience and expertise of staff from the School of Architecture & the Built Environment. The Association of Small & Medium Enterprises (ASME) has stated that there is an increasing need for polytechnic graduates who are multidiscipline and graduates who have skills in both technological and business areas will be in high demand. A recent survey of current and prospective students and other stakeholders has revealed that the course is well-accepted and attractive.
The course offers:
• Three business-related modules plus Introduction to Psychology • A 12-week internship • Civil Engineering Projects 1 & 2 which may be linked to the industry through civil engineering and building companies • A Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate (CDIO) framework that prepares students to be work ready, life ready and world ready. There is an option for students to take a Diploma-plus certificate course. The course will continue to train our students to acquire knowledge, skills and the right attitudes for work and life.
