Father went missing; work to help family; filial daughter gets scholarship

Lianhe Wanbao 1 Jun 2008 - Singapore Poly's student Li Chun Jing's father went missing when she was 13 years old. To support the family, her mother took on two jobs while Chun Jin herself worked part-time to bring in extra money. She and her mother would go from door-to-door selling biscuits. Despite having to work and study she still managed to graduate among the top five per cent in her Civil and Structural Engineering diploma course and was one of 10 students to be awarded the Land Surveyors Scholarship.
