Why HR Management with Psychology @ SP Business School?
We Nurture People Who Develop Human Capital
The first polytechnic business school to offer a full-time Diploma in HRM with Psychology so as to meet the needs of the industry for trained human resource professionals.
It is a course in Human Resource Management (HRM) with good grounding in business and IT skills. Relevant areas of Psychology will also be covered to provide students the knowledge and skills to deal effectively with human issues in a work environment.
Students will learn a HR information system used by leading companies in the industry.
Students will also have the opportunity to be on a 12-week internship programme for practical training and industry exposure.
Singapore Human Resources Institute (SHRI) is collaborating with SP Business School to accredit DHRMP students under its current Accreditation Programme. As a value-add to the DHRMP graduates, they will be accorded the status of Human Resource Associate (HRA) under the Singapore HR Accreditation Scheme.
At the Singapore Human Capital Summit 2009, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said that we must be at the forefront of human capital development, so that people see this as a place to stretch and achieve their potential. And we should develop human capital not just for Singapore, but for the whole of Asia. We can be a hub for research on talent management practices in Asia, as well as a training centre for companies to develop their talent.
At the Singapore Human Summit 2011, Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong said that we will invest resources to become a hub for a rich human capital ecosystem. Singapore is already where many companies are grooming their own in-house human capital talent, and is fast on its way to becoming an Asian hub for human capital development.
This course of study will be able to meet the growing needs of the industry for competent Human Resource professionals. Apart from specialised modules which give students a good grounding in relevant areas of human resource management (HRM), modules with psychology will provide students with relevant knowledge to improve people management skills, personal lives and overall career performance.

This will enhance their employability and career prospects.

Students can gain instant recognition through our DHRMP Scholarship Programme. Two prestigious DHRMP scholarships are offered annually to DHRMP students who display academic excellence, good CCA achievements and outstanding conduct. In addition, three more DHRMP scholarships, covering the full three-year tuition fees, will be offered to DHRMP students in 2012 in recognition of their academic excellence, good CCA achievements and financial needs.
As part of our modern facilities, the Human Resource Learning Studio was set up to function as a behavioural laboratory. It is equipped with top-of-the-line audio-visual system, a one-way mirror and a counselling room. The HR Learning Studio allows our students to practise their communication, presentation and counselling skills in HR and Psychology modules.
