We live in perilous times with regard to our freshwater supplies. Less than 3% of the water available on the earth surface is freshwater. About ? of this amount is stored as ice or trapped underground, which means less than 1% of readily available freshwater for you and me.
There is a great need to study and preserve our remaining sources of water as what man does ultimately affects the natural environment. In this module, you will learn about the 'health' of water in connection with its physical, chemical and biological properties. You will also study about water pollution and its consequences, as well as design and partake in a simple water monitoring programme.
