School of Digital Media & Infocomm Technology

Overview

The popularity and application of digital animation has grown tremendously over the years. From animated features to game cinematic, these wonderful creations are the works of dedicated, creative and skilful professionals.

The Diploma in Digital Animation (DDA) aims to equip students with essential skills to produce quality and creative content (e.g. concept art, 3D models and animation) for TV, films and games. It imbues students with a strong foundation in art and aesthetics, supplemented by sound technical knowledge that they can build on and apply throughout the course as well as in their future careers within the industry.

DDA offers personalized and collaborative spaces, dedicated training and a holistic learning journey both inside and outside the classroom that ensure students develop key attributes such as passion and commitment, confidence, an industry-centric attitude and a global mind-set. We truly make you work-ready, life-ready and world-ready.

Your Experience

In order to immerse students in real world production we have created the M.A.D. (Media, Arts and Design) Studios. The M.A.D. Studios will become your home at DDA and you will experience the full ecosystem of animation and visual effects production.

With a workshop and idea room, our home-based studios are well equipped based on actual production facilities that give you personalised spaces to unleash your creative potential.

Unique to the DDA will be workshops and master classes conducted by experts from companies like Blue Sky Studios (creators of Rio and Ice Age) and Remedy Entertainment (makers of the game Alan Wake).

First Class Training Opportunities

Complimenting DDA’s in-house production facilities are overseas study trips to destinations like Japan and Korea, internships in China and the United States, exchange programmes to India, and immersion programmes at world renowned Studio Ghibli (Japan) and GAMBIT at MIT (USA).

To further enrich students, DDA encourages participation in collaborative projects, competitions and international showcases, including the Crowbar Awards in Singapore, the International Film Animation Festival in France, and the HDFest in the United States.
