School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering

Centre for Aerospace Electronics

About the Centre

Its mission is to train aerospace students skilled in the technical competencies to meet the needs of the industry, and provide R&D services in aerospace technology to the industry in Singapore. This is in line with the Diploma in Aerospace Electronics being the first offered by a polytechnic in Singapore.

The centre promotes innovation and competitiveness among the staff and students to carry out a wide spectrum of aerospace technology projects. The centre has successfully completed projects such as flight simulator prototypes, semi-autonomous aerial vehicles, aircraft virtual reality solutions and industry projects such as aircraft battery charging systems.

Capabilities and Technical Services

  • Design and fabrication of simulator controllers, aircraft battery charging systems, RF transceivers and solar powered green aircraft models
  • Design and fabrication of semi-autonomous/autonomous flying machines
  • Construction of flight simulator prototypes
  • Aircraft virtual reality solutions
  • Event management of activities related to the aerospace technology
