About the Centre
The Centre for Information and Communication Technology (CICT) is a project development centre that pools the expertise of academic staff who are actively involved in ICT sector from the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering. It promotes Information and Communication Technology development as well as applications in the fields related to:
- Broadband Wireless Communications
Examples: Information Networks, Remote Sensing, etc
- Mobile Phone and Multimedia Application
Examples: Java ME, iPhone/iPad, Android applications, etc
Capabilities and Technical Services
The CICT comprises of two technology groups:
- Broadband and Wireless Communication Technology Group
The group focuses in the fast-moving industries of telecommunication and system networking, Voice-over-IP related technologies, wireless hardware and software design.
- Mobile Phone and Multimedia Applications Technology Group
The group focuses in mobile device applications development on Java ME, Qt, iPhone, iPad and Android platforms and multimedia.
Backed by the robust experience of the centre’s members, the centre has been providing technical consultation, training, seminars and project collaboration to the local government, educational institutions, businesses and industry.
